What is a socially responsible real estate transaction?
Socially responsible real estate transactions are real estate purchases, sales and investments in which a significant donation is made to a social services program or a recognized charity by the real estate professional as part of the financial transaction.
What is a socially responsible real estate professional?
A socially responsible real estate professional is a real estate agent or broker who donates to charity as a standard practice and part of the real estate transactions they perform. Some socially responsible real estate professionals donate a fixed amount to charity for every transaction they perform. Typically, this donation is about $250. Still others prefer to donate a percentage of their income. Again, typically, 5% of the commission is considered generous. Our member brokers promise to donate 10% (ten percent) of their gross commissions to their customer's favorite charity when the referral or contact comes through Better World Real Estate Agents.com™ website.
Are all Better World Real Estate Agents.com™ members socially responsible 100% of the time?
No. Some are socially responsible real estate professionals with 100% of their customers - meaning they donate with every transaction - and some are not. However, all of our members promise and agree to donate 10% of their personal commissions to charity from every transaction that is referred from this Better World Real Estate Agents.com™ website.
Is the Agent or Broker charging me more to cover the cost of the donation to charity?
No, our real estate professionals will not charge you more. It is important to know that all members sign promise stating that they will deal honorably, ethically and honestly with all referrals and that they will not charge in excess of their standard and usual rates and fees to cover or “make up” the amount donated to your charity of choice.
If I use a Better World Real Estate Agents™ broker, will I get good service?
Absolutely! Every real estate professional who becomes a member of our Better World Real Estate Agents.com™ referral network promises to give you the very best rate that they can find for you - just exactly the same way they would if they were your friend.
How do I know that the money will go to the charity?
The donation will be given to you from your Better World Real Estate Agents.com™ broker so that you have the funds and can give the check to the charity directly and in doing so, get your full tax deduction credit. You will have 100% control over which charity gets the donation.
What if my charity isn’t listed on this site?
No problem. Our listing is merely a representation of all the thousands of possible charities that your broker could donate to. You control where the donation gets made, so the choice is up to you!
What kind of properties and transactions can the member agents and brokers do?
Typically, different real estate professionals either handle all real estate transactions, but some specialize in particular types of properties - such as condos, commercial, first time home buyers, etc. Some focus on new home buyers, while others prefer sellers.
